The power of Project Management at Kompak

Behind every successful product launch at Kompak is a team that aligns everything: Project Management.

At Kompak, everything revolves around quality, collaboration, and delivering reliable solutions for our customers. The Sales & Project Management department plays a key role in this. But who exactly are we, and how do we make a difference for the organization and our customers every day?

Who and what is the Sales & Project Management department?

Our team consists of a Sales Director, the CEO (both active in sales), a Business Development/Project Manager, two Project Managers, and a Project Support representative. Together, we form the link between the client and the organization. As Project Managers, we coordinate the entire process of mixing and packaging new products, primarily for A-brands in the European market.

From the initial customer contact to the evaluation after the first production run, we oversee every detail. We ensure that the right raw materials and packaging materials are available on time, that internal processes are well-coordinated, and that deadlines are met. This way, clients can count on a smooth and successful product launch.

As one of our Project Managers aptly summarizes:

“If you enjoy working with packaging, connecting different disciplines, and are challenged by organizing multiple projects simultaneously and bringing them to successful completion under time pressure, then this is the job for you.”

Impact on Kompak as a whole

Project Management’s work directly impacts Kompak’s success. We ensure that new products are delivered not only on time but also to the highest quality standards. By identifying bottlenecks early and resolving them together with colleagues, we prevent delays and additional costs. This contributes to satisfied customers and an efficient internal organization.

In short: we are the driving force behind turning customer ideas and plans into reality. Without effective project management, innovations would be more difficult to achieve, and processes within Kompak would be less streamlined.

Collaboration with other departments

A successful product launch is always a team effort. That’s why we work closely with various departments within Kompak. Here are some examples:

  • Engineering & Processing: We work together to assess the technical feasibility of new products and fine-tune production lines. This could include recipe adjustments or new packaging that needs to be tested.
  • Purchasing: For every project, it’s crucial that raw materials and packaging are available on time. We coordinate the planning with Purchasing to ensure the right materials arrive at exactly the right time.
  • Production: During the first runs, we’re closely involved in the execution. We ensure everything goes according to plan and intervene when necessary.
  • Sales: We discuss quotes, customer requests, and project progress with Sales. This ensures that expectations are properly managed and the customer stays informed.

A concrete example of this is the launch of a new product for a major brand, where Engineering implemented a packaging adjustment, Purchasing ordered the correct materials on time, and Production ran a test series. We coordinated communication, monitored the schedule, and ensured the product entered the market without delay.

Finally

Project Management at Kompak is about more than just planning and deadlines. We connect people, processes, and disciplines – both internally and externally. This is how we make a difference for our clients and contribute to Kompak’s shared success.

And of course, fun is a part of it. As a colleague puts it:

“On a good workday, you have time in the morning to catch up with colleagues and plenty of time to work on projects and proposals. It’s especially rewarding when a validation or pilot project is successful and you can celebrate the result together with the team.”
