Kompak takes a major step in sustainability with 2,096 solar panels

At Kompak, we believe in a future where sustainability and innovation go hand in hand. We’re proud to announce that 2,096 solar panels were recently installed on the roof of our production facility in Etten-Leur. This investment is not only a significant step towards more sustainable operations but also directly contributes to improving our BREEAM score – an internationally recognized certification for sustainable buildings.

A solid foundation: a new roof with a fire-retardant layer

Before the solar panels could be installed, the entire roof was replaced. A construction with an additional fire-retardant layer was chosen, combining safety and sustainability. This preparation underscores our commitment to quality and future-proofing.

Sustainable financing by Edmond de Rothschild REIM (Benelux) B.V.

This project was made possible in part by financing from Edmond de Rothschild REIM (Benelux) B.V., a building owner who prioritizes sustainability. Their involvement allows for large-scale investments in renewable energy, with a direct impact on our ecological footprint.

Visible impact

The impressive result is clearly visible from the air: a sea of solar panels covering Kompak’s roof. These panels will generate nearly 1 gigawatt (990,000 kWh) of green energy annually, drastically reducing our reliance on fossil fuels.

Future-oriented entrepreneurship

With this project, we’re taking a major step toward a circular economy and climate-neutral operations. The combination of a new roof, fire safety, sustainable energy generation, and an improved BREEAM rating demonstrates that sustainability at Kompak isn’t an afterthought, but an integral part of our strategy.
